My husband and I knew we wanted to get married in Swanage but it was a question of where. As soon as we walked into The Grand Hotel we instantly fell in love with its character and the stunning views it has to offer over Swanage Bay. When we met Lindsay, the General Manager, we knew we were in good hands to help us plan our dream wedding. She introduced us to all the staff and we kept in regular contact over the planning period. We were always made to feel so welcome and each time we visited, it felt like we were coming home. Lindsay and her team are clearly very experienced in wedding organisation and have a keen eye for detail. So, as the bride and groom we felt reassured and in safe hands throughout the build-up to our wedding. We were encouraged to use the hotel as a blank canvas to create the wedding that represented us. The hotel not only organised the room bookings for our guests, but they also booked the garden marquee and the dancefloor which meant we had less to worry about overall. In addition, they have a list of excellent suppliers which as we do not live in the local area, really helped. The night before the wedding we had an informal rehearsal where we were greeted with champagne and Lindsay introduced herself to all the key members of the wedding party. It really helped to clarify the pace of the day and understand where everyone was supposed to be. Lindsay orchestrated the whole thing, and set a fantastic tone for the night before our wedding. On the day itself, everything ran smoothly and the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and came out quickly and at good intervals. As someone who suffers with food intolerances, the chef was more than accommodating in creating a menu that I could enjoy. The hotel took care of things that went on in the background, that as a bride I knew nothing about but contributed to making such a fantastic day. The team were thoughtful, caring and genuinely wanted us to have the perfect day. The whole experience with the hotel was personalized, professional and welcoming. It really was the best day of our lives and it was thanks to the team at The Grand Hotel. Caroline Horvath reviewed The Grand Hotel Swanage – 5 star 17 July - Facebook
